PURCHASE and BIDDING RULES

  1. All oars on display at the Scituate Town Library (except those that say reserved) will be available for immediate purchase from 2/28 through 4/4/18. Any oar that has not been purchased will move to the event for a traditional silent auction. Purchase instructions will be available at the library. All proceeds from the sale of oars goes directly to SEF in support of their mission.
     
  2. The traditional silent auction for remaining oars will begin at 7 pm on 4/7/18 and end at 10 pm on 4/7/18. All bids must be made in person and no bids will be accepted after the auction ends. 
     
  3. By bidding in SEF's silent auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.
     
  4. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. All items are “as is.” 
     
  5. SEF has attempted to describe and catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in this catalog, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
     
  6. Each auction item will have a minimum bid with set increments posted.
     
  7. Payment for items purchased must be made in full within 24 hours. SEF accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa, or a check made payable to SEF. Please allow 30 minutes after the silent auction bidding has closed before reporting to the cashier.
     
  8. Purchases made from the Library display must be picked up between 4/4-4/6 unless special arrangements are made. You must show your paid receipt (email confirmation) for items to be picked up. 
     
  9. Purchases made from the event on 4/7/18 must be picked up at Kennedy's that night unless special arrangements are made. You must show your paid receipt for items to be picked up. 
     
  10. Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to SEF.
     
  11. SEF reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the gallery or auction.
     
  12. Each buyer or bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from SEF, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
