John has worn many hats during his life. From slinging asphalt to screening child abuse reports, from selling books to working as an aide with blind and disabled students. All of these experiences helped to prepare him for his true calling: education. After spending 13 incredible years at the South Shore Vocational Technical High School, John has spent the past two plus years as the English Department Chair for SPS. In addition to writing three books, he also teaches a Public Speaking course and is looking forward to using his experience at Seaside Stories to help his students. John believes a great story has empathy and a focus on the audience. He believes that when telling a story, it’s more about what the audience hears and perceives than what a storyteller says or feels.
